Education and Training
Our foundation aims to forge a strategic partnership with the newly established Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centres (HCC) in the United Kingdom to facilitate educational programmes (using virtual platforms) for medical professionals in aspects such as
- the delivery of clinical care and equity
- develop care pathways and protocols
- gene therapy development and clinical trial participation
Training and healthcare personnel capacity building in the treatment and management of sickle cell disorder. The development of a ‘nurse led service’ by training a core team of nurses in pain management and sickle cell care will be central in this purpose.
Scholarships
The provision of a scholarship to fund “Amokelians” training in haematology medicine, nurses and technicians at the UCH Medical school.
